Today teachers are trying to reach the digital learners of today. Kids today are digital kids with many of them starting at 4 years old on the computer. Many of the items available to teach small kids how to read are digital devices and small handheld computers. At 10 many kids have their own mp3 or ipod along with more video games. By 13 they are interacting with each other on the web and many have their own cell phone where they use text messaging. I know I have two kids this age. Why not use the technology kids have, use, and love to teach them and help them learn.
All of these technologies and the internet can be used effectively within the classroom to enable kids at home with homework, to learn more about the world, and to help parents to see what's going on in the classroom and keep in touch. These technologies are being used to help kids communicate face to face with other students around the world.
